Sue Burrows

I grew up in Alphington, Victoria, moved to the UK for some years and returned to Melbourne to live and raise my family.

My Husband and I moved to Port Macquarie in 2007.

I have loved painting my whole life but had a 15 year break due to work and family commitments.  The move to Port Macquarie reignited my passion and I enjoy being part of the supportive art scene again.

I am a regular exhibitor at the Port Macquarie Fine Arts Gallery & Masterpiece Gallery, Port Macquarie.

I have received commendations for work in mixed exhibitions since moving here, I generally work in oil, watercolours and pastels, keeping my subject range varied.

I strive to create works that capture the natural atmospheric beauty that surrounds us as I enjoy the soft ephemeral aspects of our world.  Many of my works are inspired by my travels both in Australia and overseas.

As a mature age student I studied Art at Hawthorn Institute of Education, Victoria, I was a member of the Victorian Artists Society and was mentored by David Taylor, I went on to tutor at numerous community art centres though-out the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.
