The joy of being alive and being immersed in and connecting with nature, animals and the world around us, is the main theme of Kim McLean’s paintings.
Her engaging work is infused with colour, light and movement and expresses her thoughts and emotions blended with her interpretation of the world around her.
Inspiration often comes from memories of a place she has visited and the painting process is often a reflection of the energy and vitality of that place.
Working intuitively in a variety of media, acrylic, ink, watercolour, collage and resin, she allows each artwork to develop naturally. Her approach incorporates constant exploration and experimentation.
Her style of artwork can be illustrations, traditional watercolours, collages or abstractions on canvas and she does a variety of commissioned work upon request.
Her watercolours reside in various homes and businesses in Port Macquarie, other areas of Australia and some overseas.
